This article is intended for use with installations of NET SatisFAXtion fax server v.8.7 and higher. Further note that the following steps are performed on the system hosting the fax server, where the Print Automation driver resides.

  • Open a document that represents a particular template that will be used to create the document template
and print to the Print Automation print driver.

  • Open the .emp file produced from this print execution at C:\Program Files (x86)\NET SatisFAXtion\Temp

  • Select the Identify option on the Menu bar, then 'Document ID 1', and move the identifier template over the
field used to uniquely identify the document.

  • Select the Identify option again, then 'fax number', and move the identifier template over the fax number field. Do the same for the 'To' identifier if a recipient name is necessary.

  • Select File, Template, Properties, and identify the fields in the template by color or location by selecting them in the list, selecting color or location and clicking on the field in the template.

  • Select File, Template, Save as Template and save it with a unique name at C:\Program Files\NET SatisFAXtion\PA Templates. The template files in this folder will appear with a .emt extension.

No interface appears after printing a document to the Print Automation driver. After ~ 5-10 seconds, the
message will appear in the Active Queue as viewed from the Administration program.

Note that although the Print Automation driver is not a client-side print driver, the PA printer can be shared and
installed on client PC's.

A show Address menu option in the Identifier Menu option is available to display the address fields after
creating the template.

On 64-bit systems, the PATifConverter.exe must be replaced with a version that is 64-bit compatible. This can
be downloaded from the following path:
