This article applies to NET SatisFAXtion 8.5.

PROBLEM

The CO emits a fast busy because the Fax Card slips the connection to the DID line.

Affects:
NET SatisFAXtion 7.01 and 6.5.x installations using a Brooktrout TR-114 based DID fax card.
* To determine if your Brooktrout card is a DID card, check for an external -48V Power supply plugged into the fax card, externally at the back of your computer, on the face of the fax card. If you do not see this external power supply, you do not have a DID Brooktrout Fax Card

SOLUTION

Upgrade the Firmware from Brooktrout to Version 2.19

Perform the following steps to update the firmware

1. Stop the Fax Server Service
2. Save the attached Firmware file to your Fax Servers, BFax folder (typically C:\Program Files\NET SatisFAXtion\BFax)

3. Modify the .\Program Files\NET SatisFAXtion\BFax\Btcall.cfg file with Notepad
4. Change the file pointed to by the firmware_2M parameter to the v219-2m.pex file and save the file (see illustration below)
5. Start the Fax Server Service.
