Installing the FaxOut Client Suite

Requirements

Operating System: 32-bit or 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating system.
  • Windows Server 2008 (all editions, releases and service packs)
  • Windows Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate (all service packs)
  • Windows Server 2003 (all editions, releases and service packs)
  • Windows XP Professional SP2 and SP3
  • Note: Windows 2000 is not supported.
Supported Office Versions: The following Microsoft Office versions are supported:
  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • Microsoft Office 2003
  • Microsoft Office XP
  • Microsoft Office 2000
Office and Outlook are not required, however the functionality provided by the Outlook addin and Office addins will not be available.
Prerequisite Software: The following software must be installed prior to installation of the FaxOut Client Suite.
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2¹
  • Windows Installer 3.1²
¹ Windows Vista and 2008 have Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 installed by default. It is not visible in the Add/Remove Programs list.
² Windows 2003 and newer have Windows Installer 3.1 installed by default. It is not visible in the Add/Remove Programs list.

Installing the FaxOut Client Suite

The installer for the FaxOut Client Suite can be found on the Launchpad web site. Go to Start ► Programs ► NET SatisFAXtion ► Launchpad. This will open the Launchpad in the default web browser. Navigate to User Tools ► Client Suite. There you will find a Download Client Suite link.
Click the Download Client Suite link and run the installer.

If Windows displays a security warning, click Run.
The FaxOut Client Suite installation wizard will run.

Click Next.
Setup will ask which directory to install the FaxOut Client Suite. It is recommended you accept the default.

Setup is ready to install the FaxOut Client Suite.

Click Next.
On Vista and newer, you may see a User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Enter an Administrator password (if required) and click OK or Allow.

Setup will now install the FaxOut Client Suite files.

Once the files are installed, the Popup Notifier Configuration will run to configure your NET SatisFAXtion fax user account for the first time.
On Vista and newer, you may see a User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Enter an Administrator password (if required) and click OK or Allow.

The Popup Notifier Configuration needs to know if you already have a NET SatisFAXtion fax user account already, or if it needs to create one for you.

If you do not have a NET SatisFAXtion fax user account already, select the Create a new fax user account... option, and click Next. Continue to the Creating a New Fax User Account section below.
If you have a NET SatisFAXtion fax user account already, select the Look-up or change your fax user... option, and click Next. Skip down to Looking Up an Existing Fax User Account, below.

Creating a New Fax User Account

You can automatically create a NET SatisFAXtion fax user account by sending a special email to the fax server that asks it to create an account based on your email configuration. (If you don’t have your email set up yet on this computer, do that first and come back here once that’s done.)
Fax Server Administrators: Note you can turn off Autoenroll on the fax server to prevent users from being able to create their own accounts. See Autoenroll for more details.

Click Prepare New Fax User Message and a new email will open.

This email will already be filled in with the necessary information for the NET SatisFAXtion fax server to create a fax user account for you. Simply click Send.
A progress bar will display as the Popup Notifier Configuration waits for the NET SatisFAXtion fax server to create your fax user account.

When your fax user account is ready, you will see your assigned user name, as well as the email address that is associated with your account.

Click Finish. The FaxOut Client Suite is now installed and configured. See for information on how to send faxes. To receive faxes, your fax server administrator may need to associate your fax user account with an inbound fax number.

Looking Up an Existing Fax User Account

If you know your user name or your email address, you can look up your fax user account.

Enter your user name in the Fax user field, or enter your email address. Also enter your password, if any.
Click the Look Up button and you should see the Fax user successfully looked up message. Click Next.

Click Finish. You are done installing the FaxOut Client Suite.
