This article applies to NET SatisFAXtion 8.5 and newer.

The following document was developed jointly between FaxBack and AT&T to assist customers with configuring NET SatisFAXtion to use AT&T IP Flexible Reach.

Provisioning IP Flex Reach

Typically the NET SatisFAXtion fax server is provisioned as a second IP PBX. If you are not currently provisioned as such, contact your AT&T account representative to "add an IP PBX endpoint to an existing site".
AT&T will also provide you with one or more IP gateway addresses to which the fax server software must be pointed.

Summary

For customers already familiar with configuring NET SatisFAXtion, follow this checklist:
  1. Ensure you have the latest available NET SatisFAXtion fax server installed.
  2. When the server setup wizard runs (or run re-detect fax devices), choose IP Fax as the device type. Enter the IP address of the AT&T IP Flex Reach gateway provided by AT&T.
  3. Complete the setup wizard, but do not start the fax server service yet.
  4. Create the following registry key (32-bit):
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FaxBack\IP_FAX]
    "Sip_Mode"="G729"

    64-bit:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Wow6432Node\SOFTWARE\FaxBack\IP_FAX]
    "Sip_Mode"="G729"
  5. Start the NET SatisFAXtion fax server service.
