This article applies to NET SatisFAXtion 8.5.

PROBLEM

The connector API (Asc2cas.dll) from version 8.1.3454.583, and older had a hard coded multiplier or 3 * SendPortCount
This means the Connector API will only submit 3 scheduled queue jobs per fax port on the fax server that is set to send faxes.

CAUSE

This multiplier was set to 3 intentionally, to keep from overwhelming the scheduled queue with print conversion jobs, and also to allow desktop fax senders a chance to get in queue and not be behind hundreds or more faxes.

SOLUTION

CAUTIONS: (See Cause above)
Use this Asc2Cas.dll ONLY on NET SatisFAXtion Server Verion 8.1.3454.583 (No Exceptions)

Asc2Cas.dll sets the previously hard coded multiplier to a variable, now set in the registry.
If this value of "PortThreshholdMultiplier" is not present, or set with a value of 0 (zero) or less, it will still default to 3

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FaxBack\ASCIIPacketServer]
"PortThresholdMultiplier"=dword:00000003

Instructions to use the attached Asc2Cas.dll

- Stop the NET SatisFAXtion Fax Server service.
- Open regedit (Start -> Run -> type REGEDIT - Click OK)
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FaxBack\ASCIIPacketServer
- Create a new DWORD Value named PortThresholdMultiplier
- Double click PortThresholdMultiplier
- It is easier to select the "Decimal" value and enter the value data as the number you want for a multiplier, rather than the HEX Value. Select the muliplier and click ok

Example - Setting the multiplier to 20 * Send Fax Ports
