This article applies to NET SatisFAXtion 6.5x through 8.5.
NOTE THIS IS ONLY FOR CLASS1 MODEMS THAT ARE NOT MAINPINE DUO, OR QUATRO Fax Cards.

PROBLEM

Setting up DTMF Digit Collection on Voice Capable Class1 modems (such as Digi, Single port modems etc (Except DUO and Quatro and V.34 capable Perle))

Note that the following settings apply ONLY to Class 1 devices that support the standard voice prompt command set. If your modem is not voice prompt-capable, or does not
use the standard command set, then these commands cannot be applied for DTMF digit collection.

SOLUTION

Following are the parameters for DTMF digit collection. These are set in the global
Class1 key under the FaxBack driver settings in the registry at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\FaxBack\Class1

Note that these are all string data types.

1) line_type
2) dtmf_detection_begin
3) dtmf_detection_end

Set "line_type" to the value DTMF_PROMPT.
Set "dtmf_detection_begin" to the value #CLS=8A
Set "dtmf_detection_end" to the value +FCLASS=1

When completed, close the registry editor to save the changes. Note that the fax server
must be unloaded/reloaded to make the change effective.

The following is a registry file you can download and merge into your systems registry. Remember to close and reopen the NET SatisFAXtion Fax Server software for these settings to take effect

NOTE: Comtrol Rocket Modems need to be set differently as follows
Set "dtmf_detection_begin" to the value #CLS=8
