PROBLEM

Users do not have the Client Suite installed and wish to be able to send faxes using [FAX:5035551234] or get addresses from the outook contacts, business fax number

SOLUTION

To send faxes using the FAX address type from Outlook ( [FAX:5035551234]) , you must add this address address type to the SMTP Connector in Exchange.
On your Exchange Server, open the Excahnge System Manager (Example is from Exchange 2003)
Go to First Administrative Group, expand Connectors.
Get the properties of the SMTP Connector you created for the SMTP gateway. (If you have not already done this, see your fax server's launch pad website)

Click on the Address Space tab
Note the address name (example below shows fax.netsatisfaxtion.com. Yours will likely differ)
Click Add

Select Other

Enter the type of FAX (all in caps)
Set the address to be the same as the SMTP Address space on this connector.

You can repeat this process and create a type of NS also, if you are used to the legasy NET SatisFAXtion connector type of [NS:5035551234]
